Where’s My Traffic?

By

Here’s a typical letter I get from beginning marketers.

Dear Steve,

I’ve had my website up now for about 5 months and it still get’s almost no traffic. I see it in Google for a few searches, but it’s never higher than page 4 or 5 in the rankings. I keep adding content, pictures, and videos to it….but I still can’t get it any traffic to it.

Can you take a look at the site and see what might be wrong?

Thanks…..

Nine times out of ten, when I look at the site, it is fine. It looks OK, the content is original (I check it in CopyScape), and the on page SEO is OK. It seems too that they have given thought to keywords, etc.

So what is wrong? Why does their “OK cool” site not get any traffic?

When I get a letter like this and see that their site is so-so-OK at least, I am always willing to bet that they have done no (or very little) off page SEO. In other words, they are not working at getting backlinks to their site.

Google puts a LOT of emphasis on backlinks. They have for a while and it’s never been truer. You can rank any page for anything if you do enough backlinking correctly. In the past year I have had amazing results with backlinking strategies which ANYONE can do.

Yes. YOU can rank any page for ANYTHING if simply do backlinking correctly and to the degree required for the competition in the niche.

There are no tricks or secrets that only a few successful people know about. (Don’t fall for scam offers that promise such.) Backlinking IS one of those step by step, methodical and highly affective strategies that beginners like to know about.

So why don’t all beginners have massive success with their sites if backlinking is so affective and IS a simple step by step process?

The reason is laziness….pure and simple.

Backlinking takes a lot of work. It is NOT fun and it surely is not glamorous work. It’s just one of those dirty jobs that must be done.

If you have a site which gets little or no traffic, are you backlinking as you should?

So right, Steve! In order to make your business website findable online, you’ll need to court Google and other search engines by doing some of the following basic things to start. Making sure your title tags (what shows up in the blue bar at the top of an internet window and in the search engine description) are relevant and unique. Making sure your meta tags (kind of like chapter titles within your website) are up-to-date and unique. Making sure you use items that search engines -like Google- like. (relevant videos, articles, documents, etc)

Of course, backlinks are very important and there are so many more techniques you can use, but I believe those are the best places to start. So, how do YOU go about finding the right sites on which to GET those backlinks? I’d really love to hear your techniques!

Thanks for your generous assistance to all of us!

Steve I 100% agree with you as you mention “The reason is laziness….pure and simple” yes it is truth I had a same problem with building links to my site that few times I almost give up, let me tell you based on my own experience building a backlink to the site is the most consuming task, in fact it’s the most time-consuming part of SEO it’s take enormous amount of hard work to build links. Think about if you have more sites like 5-7 sites for example and you build backlink to all of them in order to rank them to the top position on Google, I think honestly if you work 24 hour’s without a sleep that still wouldn’t be enough to complete all this task, so much work involved: writing and spinning articles, commenting on other sites in order to get backlink to your site, social bookmarking, profile links, social network……and so on, because so much work involved the reason so many people outsource link building or they use automation linkbuilding software such as SENuke X in order to accelerate the process…method that I find out that did work very well for me is to use Blog Commenting software which help me to find hundreds high Pr sites to leave comment on and get backlink to my site I had a great success with this method and I find is more powerful then using those “Spam” link building software tool, the reason comment has to be approved by webmaster before it get accepted just using this method I had been ranked niche site on Google #1 just getting backlink from PR 4 ,5.6 to my site including Gov and Edu sites….
Also I want to point out one think which I believe is important as you mention “The reason is laziness” I decide to let other people do link building for me simple outsourcing I was buying many backlink packages mostly from Warrior Forum that promise “Guaranteed First Page Ranking” even regardless of competition… packages that I purchased they are mostly $47, $67, $77, $97, I also pay one package for $197, I spent around $2,700 on those package that promise great results honestly I have to say I was very disappointed, for just one of my site in very competitive niche I spent $300 hoping they will bring my site onto first page of Google I never got it, I never got money back from these guys who offer this service I had few times to contact PayPal for money back, after I received report I notice often time was just so many spamy links from irrelevant sites and so many social network.auto approve article directories, forum profiles and thousand’s spammy links submitted with Scrapebox I never had any significant results for my sites spending such a money on these link packages. So I decide to do on my own to build backlinks, Yes it take a lot of work yes it’s very slow process but in the end it will pay of …nobody said that “make money online is easy” If it were easy then everyone would be doing it. All The BEST..
