Steve Has Been Busy…But He’s Back!

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Steve Has Been Busy…But He’s Back!

Where has Steve Been? I think I’ve been asked that question about 876 times in the past few months 🙂

Here’s the short answer: I felt like something was missing in my life. I missed the feelings of “making a difference” I had when teaching high school students years ago. Since I didn’t want a “real” job to satisfy what I was missing, I started a new, part-time career.

I am now certified as a Case Manager and a Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Specialist. (Basically, those certifications allow me to work as a mentor/teacher/case manager for SoonerCare of Oklahoma members under the age of 19).

I am now a private contractor for a local agency that services medicaid clients in the SoonerCare program. It took me about 8 months to get the certifications, “learn the ropes” in the business, and get my case load built up to where I’m working at it 3 days a week. I REALLY enjoy it. I work with some great kids and I feel like I’m making a significant difference in their lives.

Since I’ll only work three days a week in my new “career”, the rest of the week will be “full speed ahead” with Internet marketing.

I have two new personal online projects I’m working on right now. PLUS, I’ve changed my coaching program so I can help more people like you learn this business.

Times are hard for a LOT of people right now. Money is tight. People are still without a job and/or are losing their job. I want to help as many people as I can.

Therefore, I’ve made my coaching program MUCH easier for people to afford.

New students get a one-on-one strategy call with me, full access to my large, private online library of how-to tutorials, AND unlimited Q&A directly with me via a private blog.

Making Money With Social Media – The Baltimore Conference

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Making Money With Social Media – The Baltimore Conference

My head is still spinning from all I learned at the Social Media Money Magnet conference in Baltimore last week. I have a 2 page summary of all the notes I took; the high points on that list are on my “to-do” list for this week.

The conference was a real eye opener in a lot of ways. Time after time the presenters emphasized how “less” could be and should be more. Social media can be a HUGE time waster. There are so many aspects of it that will not result in improved sales or leads. To use it successfully, you have to filter out those wasteful actions.

The presenters all hit home the fact that your tweets and posts needed to have value in some way, shape, or form that YOUR particular followers found valuable.

What this means is to always (at least 95% of the time anyway) post info that your followers will find useful/informative/inspiring. Always ask yourself, “Is this something that will cause people to want to find out more about me, subscribe to my newsletter, check out my web site, etc.”

Sure, just to keep it real, a few tweets/posts will simply be about a great movie or restaurant you enjoyed…but even those can be written in fun and inspiring ways.

Social media is all about content. Provide content that improves, makes easier, adds to, or helps in some way with your followers’ lives and/or businesses. When you do that, you will build a massive and dedicated herd!

Always remember that social media is NOT about “making sales”. Its purpose is gathering leads. Social media is a means of building a large and dedicated group of followers who gain benefit from knowing you and feel inspired by you. That’s all it is. When that is accomplished, money will all but automatically flow to you.

The Real and Most Basic Reason People Succeed or Fail

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on The Real and Most Basic Reason People Succeed or Fail

I’m a big fan of  Tony Robbins and told a friend to listen to him on YouTube. My friend emailed me the following  in a few days:

hey just listened to some of tony again and got one really good bit of info from it….

whatever you focus on that is what you get….focus on problems…you get problems

focus on success and you will eventually get success!

simple but awesome!!

Here was my reply:

That my friend is the corner stone. I don’t care how many books and tapes you read and listen to or how much advice you get, nothing tops that truth.

It’s easier said than done of course.

Every thought you have can be categorized on a scale of emotion from -10 to 0 to +10

There are no emotions sitting right on zero. They are either on the positive side or negative side (they may be ever so slight one way or the other, but if you pay attention, you can easily “feel” a negative one even at -.001 or +.001.

Pay attention to them! THOSE are your guides!

You are on the RIGHT track when they are on positive side. THAT track is where success is!!! When they are on the negative side…well, you can guess where that track is leading you.

If it’s on the negative side, it’s your job to remove and/or replace it with one on the positive side. Simply put, if you keep emotions on the positive side mostly, you’ll have that much success….the more you can stay over there, the more success you’ll have. That is the only way it can and does work.

Congrats to One of My Clients!

Posted by: | Comments (2)
One of my clients, Roland Bonay, did a blog post I want to share with you…sure, it toots my own horn a bit, but mainly it shows how far Roland has come and is a great example of what’s required to have success online.
Roland Bonay

Roland Bonay

No matter who you are or what kind of business site you have, Roland demonstrates for you what it takes to succeed. Mainly, it’s a lot of hard work and laser focus on what you are trying to achieve.

A year ago or so, Roland didn’t have too much of a clue how to succeed online. He made many of the usual mistakes and had many setbacks. ( I remember one time he completely “broke” his blog….and basically had to recreate it….uggg!) but he just kept chugging along with plenty of Relentless Focused Action.

Along the way he found SendOutCards and is now a distributor. THAT was a perfect step for him because it fit so well with his cartoon and drawing area.

What so many would-be marketers fail at is “finding their place” online. I don’t mean just learning how to get traffic and make sites…I mean incorporating all those nuts and bolts of Internet marketing with your own unique personality. Only then is true online success possible!

Anyway, check out Roland’s site and see why I am so proud!

Love What You Do – Do What You Love

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Love What You Do – Do What You Love

That’s one of the mandatory prerequisites for happiness!

So why do so few people adhere to this tried and proven philosophy for living life?

It’s pretty simple really.

Almost all of us, at least in this country, have been indoctrinated since an early age that hard work and sacrifice were the real roads to success. We all fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Sure, sacrifice and hard work MIGHT lead to success…and then again, and in more cases than not, it simply leads to more hard work and sacrifice.

Don’t get me wrong! Hard work and sacrifice are noble traits and when they are applied to areas of positive energy, great things can happen! However, the same hard work and sacrifice applied simply for the sake of their applications leads nowhere.

Honestly there is no relationship between “hard work” and success.

What?? Did Steve Weber just say that??

He sure did and I can prove that statement is correct by finding countless people who have worked hard all their lives and have little, if any, of what they define as success in their lives. Whether their “success” entails income, lifestyles, or some meta-physical aspect of life, the universe really could care less how much hard work and sacrifice is submitted to it when it hands out “success and happiness”.

Here comes the hard part. (I bet you sort of figured this was coming.)

Take stock of your own position in life right now. Take an honest evaluation of where you are spiritually, economically, etc. Where are you now, where do you want to be in the future, and will the road you are on get you there? Be sure to double check with yourself that you are not suffering in the belief that “working hard” really is the key ingredient for getting ahead.

Beware, the truth often hurts; complete self disclosure is vital however.

By now I have probably enlightened you, depressed you, or caused you to consider me full of “hog wash”.

I assume, unless you are of the latter group, you are still reading. Therefore, I’ll continue.

Living by “Do what you love and love what you do” involves breaking old habits and forming new ones. DO NOT expect these transformations will take place overnight…they won’t.

First, you have to put “hard work and sacrifice” in perspective and understand how it will and will not fit into your grand plan. Like I said, there’s nothing wrong with it per se. In fact, plenty of blood sweat and tears may be what’s required when you find your road.

Or maybe not…..

The real trick for finding and enjoying your own definition of success is this: The action you take in life must be directed towards areas where you feel positive energy. You must get in the habit of always analyzing your true feelings while applying ALL actions.

You might be working yourself to the bone right now on a dream which you feel complete positive energy for. If so, congratulations! You are already living success on multiple levels right now.

On the other hand, you might have a monotonous but easy job you go to each day which you have utter disdain for. Regardless of your “dreams for the future”, you are destined in one way, shape or form to continue on this negative plateau in your life.

By the way, rationalizing that you plan to “do something about it” in the future won’t ever move you off that plateau.

I know this post may cut to the core for some who read it; it was meant to actually.

Brutal honesty with yourself is the first and hardest step toward living your dreams.

Houston GKIC Presentation

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Houston GKIC Presentation

Wow, I had a GREAT time in Houston last week! Talk about an Okie heading to the Big Town! I stayed near downtown; I can’t begin to describe the difference between there and here at home in Southard, America! …Talk about culture shock!

Anyway, I gave Local Online Marketing presentations to both Glazer-Kennedy Local groups. Plus, I had lunch with the GKIC Mastermind group. I really was in “hog heaven” with all the non-stop marketing talk!

I’ll post some videos I took of Houston and a video of parts of my presentation soon. For now, I’ll post a video Keenan Glass, one of the IBA’s for the Houston group, produced for me.

Thanks Keenan!

Steve and Kay in Lake Tahoe

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Steve and Kay in Lake Tahoe

We had a great time in Tahoe! The R&R was much needed! We stayed in South Lake Tahoe at the Blue Lake Inn…very nice! Our “reason” for going was to run the Lake Tahoe Half-Marathon. We ran it last year and wanted to return for this year’s. We’ll probably make it an annual trip! Besides the run, we did a lot of sightseeing. If you get the chance to go, be sure to take the short hike down to Emerald Bay. We think it’s the most beautiful place on earth! Perfect place…perfect weather…perfect vacation!

“Pretty as a Picture” … Here’s a shot of Emerald Bay from the road above.

WOW!…They don’t grow ‘em like this in Oklahoma!
This Redwood tree is on the beach of Emerald Bay.

What a view!

From Emerald Bay’s Beach

We took the tram to near the top of the mountain and then hiked to here.

Whew! The hike down to Emerald Bay wore me out!

10 Minutes before start time…13.1 miles to the finish line!…with just a few
“HILLS” in the way…hehe..

After the race….the COLD water felt good after 13 miles!

My Race Bib and Finishers Medal…pretty cool!

While on our side trip to Virginia City, Nevada

Simply finding and deciphering all the pieces to the Internet marketing success puzzle is quite a challenge. Besides the fact that there is a LOT to know, there is also plenty of worthless information out there. Filtering and categorizing all the knowledge is no easy feat. Reading about list building is one thing; implementing a profitable list building strategy is another.

Likewise, studying PayPerClick is much easier than enjoying anything greater than a negative Return-On-Investment with AdWords. …and so on. OK. You know reading and studying won’t cut it. You must take action of course. But WHERE do you focus your action? How do you know what action to take?

Your time is limited. You probably have a full-time job in the beginning. I’ve already told you how important Relentless Focused Action is. I’m sure you believe in and understand the concept wholly. But action is wasted effort unless you KNOW where to focus it!

Where to focus IS the sixty-four thousand dollar question of course. Allow me to veer off the path here a bit and help you in a way you may or may not subscribe to at the moment. If you do not yet embrace the theory of “The Law of Attraction”, I suggest you consider the following:

The Law of Attraction will guide your focus and efforts for you. Instead of fretting and stewing about what to do or how to do it, there is an easier way! Honestly, I am not going Zen-do on you. I am the most logical and scientific thinker there is, but there is more to this world than logic or science can sometime explain.

The Law of Attraction won’t do your work for you. You still must offer up the blood, sweat, and sometimes tears. The Law of Attraction simply helps you choose the correct road out of the thousands of possible dead-ends.

Here’s how to tap the Law of Attraction: First you must limit these kinds of thoughts:

“I don’t like what I do.”
“I never have enough time.”
“I’m always tired.”
“I’m tired of living paycheck to paycheck.”
“I worry about how long my old car will last.”
“I can’t afford the health insurance I need.”
“My retirement account is not enough.”

It’s likely your list goes on and on…

The Law of Attraction states that our thoughts direct our lives. Just thinking how much you hate living “paycheck to paycheck” all but insures “paycheck to paycheck” is how you will continue living.

The negative energy of those thoughts perpetuates that way of life. Instead, notice when those negative thoughts begin and replace them with outcome based positive ones. For example, instead of “wanting to quit your job”, imagine working for yourself.

The Law of Attraction’s power is leveraged by imagining self-employment instead of fretting about your current boss. But we’re not finished yet putting the Law of Attraction to work. We can fine tune it further. The process is much more powerful if you focus on not just “what” you want, but also WHY you want it.

For example, instead of only imagining a larger bank account, focus on how your life will change with more income. Think of the peace of mind it will bring, the ability to travel, how it will feel to pay off all the bills, the satisfaction of giving to charity, etc.

Thoughts of those outcomes will create the mind set required to achieve them; it’s just that simple! Actively try this technique for a few months and see for yourself how things begin falling into place for you. Your road becomes clearer! It rather amazing how well it works!

Use Your Secret Power

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Use Your Secret Power

Do you believe…I mean REALLY believe…your thoughts are powerful and relevant to your success?

Let’s do a little mind experiment and find out.

Imagine a super successful person who suddenly, for whatever reason, develops negative thoughts. They begin to question and doubt themselves. They feel panic about losing what they have. Their mindset
simply goes south.

What happens to that person with respect to their continued future successes? The answer is easy to imagine.

Next, imagine a person who has yet to achieve the success they seek. Thinking about the above example, do you see how impossible it will be for them to achieve success if their thoughts are filled with doubt,
fear, and negativity in general?

You thoughts are your most important asset or your worst enemy.

Let’s Talk About Your Goals

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Let’s Talk About Your Goals

Have you noticed how FAST these years fly by? The older I get the faster they seem to come and go. Most people spend more time around each New Year reflecting on where they are and what they would like to accomplish in the next year. It’s definitely a great time to set and/or adjust your dreams and goals.

Don’t take wrong what I am about to say; I think dreams and goals are great.

Literally millions of people will be actively thinking about and setting new ones for themselves in the coming week. I think that is great.

However…

Just like the saying, “Words are Cheap”, so are dreams and goals.

Out of those millions who set new resolutions, how many do you think will actually see a fraction of their goals reached? I’m not a negative person at all, but I think I can safely say that answer is “not very many”.

With respect to your business goals, how can you break that pattern and actually see great progress toward your dreams in the coming year?

The answer is really simple.

There is no luck involved.
Nothing but an average IQ is required.
It doesn’t matter “who you know”.
A magical epiphany of insight is not required.
Past “failures” don’t matter a lick.

Once again, I point out my favorite 3 words for success:
Relentless Focused Action

That is ALL that’s required for your success in the coming year.

Relentless: I don’t mean you have to go “nose to the grind stone” 24/7. Relentless only means CONSISTENT. It means you don’t dabble here and there at it “when you have time”. You set high, but realistic goals depending on your life situation. THEN you put yourself on a daily/weekly work schedule. THEN you STICK WITH IT…no matter what. AND you DO NOT require immediate satisfaction as a requisite for sticking to the schedule. (Expecting/needing quick satisfaction is the #1 reason people ditch their dreams.)

Focused: Here’s the kicker. Hard work is NOT a guarantee for success. Read that again! You can work until you are “blue in the face” trying to market earth worm pie recipes. No amount of work will make that idea fly. Before you set your goals and plans of action, you must have a relatively solid foundation of knowledge for what’s required. You aren’t and don’t need to be an expert marketer in the beginning, but you do need a foundation. Remember that whatever time/money you invest in educating yourself puts you miles ahead of the rest. Most people’s need for immediate satisfaction causes them to skip over the “boring” part of learning.

Action: Like I said, dreams and goals are cheap to set. If I had to list just ONE factor that is common to successful people, it would be ACTION. Those who reach their goals have learned this real “secret” to success. Turn off the TV, stop surfing around the web, get up an hour earlier…whatever it takes…but you just gotta put action behind those goals and dreams. Again, 24/7 is NOT required. What IS required is a FOCUSED action plan which is followed RELENTLESSLY.

I may not know you personally. I may not know your individual dreams, goals or current skill levels. But here is what I DO know about you and your dreams and goals:

When you reach them, you will have followed the path of Relentless Focused Action. There really is no other route. The more you look for shortcuts or “quick and easy”, the longer you delay the real process for reaching your goals.

If you are truly “ready” and prepared to reach your goals, what I have written here will resonate with you; you will “get it”. You’ll then be one of those few who not only have a dream, but will also REACH IT in this coming year.

I can’t wait to hear about your successes as you apply Relentless Focused Action in the coming year!

Keep In Touch!
