Design Your Online Success

By

.

Your success on the Internet, or with any other goal, is determined by a series of steps. There is a great book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill that is perfect for developing an action plan for any goal. I highly recommend it… you won’t be disappointed!

I am asking a few questions here to help you drill down to your specific plan. Please put thoughtful consideration into each answer.

OBJECTIVES/CHALLENGES

1. If I had more free time, I would…
2. What is my burning desire? What are my goals? What do I want in life and why am I doing this?
3. What are the greatest obstacles to attaining my goals?
4. How much time am I willing to dedicate each week to accomplish these goals?
5. Will I continue with my occupation after this is completed?
6. Name two things that I am willing to give up or sacrifice on your way:

Those questions are designed to see how serious you are about achieving success. Now for the steps:

The 6 Steps
1:  Fix your mind on the exact goal you desire. Be definite … Be specific!

2:  Determine what value you intend to give in return.

3:  Establish a definite date when you intend to complete the goal.

4:  Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin immediately! Whether you are ready or not… start today. Put that plan into ACTION! The specific details will work out later. Just get started!

5:  Now write a clear, concise statement of your goal, the timeframe, what value you plan to give, and then describe how you intend to accomplish it.

6:  Twice daily read your statement aloud – morning and night! Read with conviction – see it and believe you’ve already accomplished your goal.

Your ability to define specifically what you want to accomplish, putting an action plan in place, and then acting is of vital importance when building an online business. But the key is to convince yourself – with feeling, emotion, and “a burning desire” that you will be successful. That desire, kept strong in your mind, will help ensure that you are acting to accomplish your goals and therefore will lead to your success.

When you follow these steps, you WILL have success!

  1. An important part of the plan needs to be the budget for any specific marketing effort, such as PPC ads. My plan will look drastically different depending on how much money I have to spend.

Another key part, of course, is to make sure that you are monitoring your marketing dollar expenses and results carefully. It is all too common to blow through a large budget with nothing to show for it.

  2. I agree with all of your steps, but can I add just one more? For me, it’s all about staying organized. The machine (your business) can’t run without knowing every facet of it and when things are due, and when goals are to be met. Thanks!

Yep, I agree Danny! You can have success with poor organization….but you can double or triple that success with good organization.

  4. Katlyn says:

I am really organized, my problem is i get sidetracked on a little issue that ends up taking me all day long, because I won’t give up on it til its resolved. then I have to change my plans to make up for that time, pushing me further back from reaching my goal.

  5. Steve,
First of all, I want to say I love your podcasts and glad to hear you are doing them again! We are listening!!!!

I have a really big problem with organization and focus. That has been one thing I have been working on for the past year, but it is still really hard for me to let old projects go when they are bringing in money and have huge potential, or once made thousands per week, etc…

I am going to print this up and use it to retain focus. Thanks again for your great podcasts!

    Hi Steve
Thanks for the post. My problem is just the same as Bryan, lack of focus and organization. I want to do so many things at a time and every now and then I lose interest on one thing and get attracted by another one but I know it for sure that I have a burning desire to succeed online and succeed as an Internet marketer. I also agree with all the excuses you sent in your newsletter–they are very real you know! I know they are excuses but I can find same problem for me too! I am so surprised to see my situation is explained in you mail. Don’t know if I can really succeed one day!

  7. Steve says:

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I have had my share of suffering in that area. I can’t tell you how to fix that problem. There is no single method/answer that works for everyone. For me, it was basically one day while driving home from my job. I had had enough and basically just “snapped”, so to speak. I was beyond sick and tired of feeling just what you described. From that day on I was able to focus on what worked for others and learn how they did it.

However, I know that for some, it’s not a “one day” fix. They fix themselves over longer, slower periods of time. But however you can do it, your focus on just a few things that lead to success is required. If you can’t get to that point, you’ll be forever frustrated until you finally quit.

Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Learn what works and know in your heart without doubt that it will work “IF” you can focus…and then just do it.

Stop trying to hit a home run. Your goal should be building a tiny niche site that might earn $20 a month. THEN, you already know how to earn $200 a month. When you reach $200, you already KNOW how to make $2000…and so on. But first just shoot for $20!

Although I give away a LOT of info, I do promote some third party products that I use and find great value in.
Usually, I will receive a commission when these products are purchased from this site.
But as I said, I NEVER promote anything unless I find it valuable in my own business.
