Reasons Why An Employer Should Not Ban Facebook

Research has shown that most employers around the world are very uncomfortable with the social networks especially facebook. It is believed that the most widely visited site in the world is facebook. It is believed that when employees visit these sites, they forget about work thus lowering the productivity of the company. This should not be the case at all. In fact, the employers need to change the negative perception they have of social networks and look out for ways through which they can use these networks to their advantage. Banning facebook is not a solution; you will realize that employees who have the freedom of visiting and updating their social networks work better than those who are limited when it comes to social networks.

Facebook creates a cheerful working environment

One of the reasons as to why employers should not ban facebook is that the use of facebook by employees freely leads to the creation of a cheerful and happy working environment. When amidst pressure from work you as an employee can access facebook and see a post that tickles you, you break the tension and thus end up working better. Additionally, it shows that the employer believes in you and thus you will not at any point in time want to disappoint him. This therefore shows that it is healthy to have social networks allowed for employees in every company.

Builds trust

Good working relations and conditions are built on trust. There are many ways through which employees can show their employers that they can be trusted. Having social networks free for them and their proper usage of them is one way. Employers therefore should not ban facebook as it acts as a way of building trust among the employees. When you allow your employees to use facebook, you can be assured that they will not abuse it and they will work as expected. This is contrary to when the access to facebook is denied or restricted.

It creates company presence on social networks

What most of the employers fail to understand is that the best person to market the company, business or product they are having is their employees. With the increasing technological innovation, the best and most convenient way of making your presence felt around the globe is by having your company on the social networks. From these networks, people will be forced into getting more information about yourself and you might just end up having your business grow. Employees will tell their friends on the social networks about where they work and what their place of work is all about. This in a way is marketing informally. When you have this perspective, then you will not ban the use of facebook in your company.

Break from work

The best tension breaker for employees in every work place is the social network since they are not in a position to hook up with their friends during working hours to steam off. This basically means that when the social networks are left open especially facebook for employees to access, then they will not even need the breaks that usually come in between working times for steaming off.

Facebook should thus not be banned by employers as they make things work better in most of the work places.
