Amazon S3 For File and Video Hosting

By

I’m a HUGE fan of Amazon’s S3 hosting service. If you don’t know about it, it’s not for hosting websites. It’s not a host like Godaddy or HostGator. It’s simply a very large group of very fast servers for file hosting. Specifically, I use it for audio and video hosting.

Hands down, Amazon S3 is one of the fastest and most reliable host for serving videos. I like HostGator for hosting, but their shared hosting doesn’t come close to Amazon S3 for serving video.

Other people use it for backing up their hard drives or other types of mass storage needs.

Best of all Amazon S3 is DIRT CHEAP!

The only downside to it is that it’s not that easy to get setup. You can’t use standard FTP programs for example. Instead, there are third party applications which interface with it.

I use Cloudberry for uploading general files. Firefox has an addon for uploading to Amazon, but I like Cloudberry best.

If you are interested in using Amazon S3, here’s a video which will help you get going:

Although I give away a LOT of info, I do promote some third party products that I use and find great value in.
Usually, I will receive a commission when these products are purchased from this site.
But as I said, I NEVER promote anything unless I find it valuable in my own business.
